The graphs below show overall membership growth at Prosper.com since Feb. 1 2006, which is the earliest date for which reasonable information was available. The first graph shows cumulative member growth for all members, lenders and borrowers. The second graph shows how many new members are signing up every month.

The reason that the total number of members is much larger than the sum of the borrowers and lenders is because many people sign up and never become a borrower or a lender at all.

The sudden drop off you are likely to see in the most recent month on the graph is probably not because there was actually a drop off, but rather because the most recent members have not been "picked up" by us yet or because the month is simply not over yet.

The blue line shows total member growth on Prosper, the green line shows borrower growth and the red line shows lender growth.
