My DTI shows as 14% but when I click to list, it's coming up 21% (GO FIGURE), so I have lowered my requested amount to even out the DTI.  I have explained here about my public record, please take it into account that I, as a person, would never have had negative items if it had not been for the restaurant business I was a partner in.  The delinquency showing is left from my bankruptcy.  Note the amount due is $0.00.  Thank you.

ABOUT ME:

I am 48 years old, and single.  I am an executive assistant for a fantastic boss at a dynamic company whom I have worked for a little over three years now.  I'm a home-owner and take care of my baby (Basenji).  He's the love of my life!

EXPLANATION OF BAD CREDIT:

I'll give you my hard luck story.  I have always held good paying jobs and have always had exemplary credit.  Always paid my bills on-time and still do; paid off cars and credit cards.  Back in 1997, I made a decision that to this day my mother yells at me about, and I have more or less regretted.  I entered into a restaurant business with a partner.  I left my 14-year job with a salary in the $40's, to be a business partner.  I cried every day I believe during the five years we owned the place.  It was always difficult, never had the money to pay employees, so we worked 13-hours a day, seven days a week; I was even doing delivery driving.  To make a long and painful story short, all credit cards and bills associated with the business were personally guaranteed by me as president of the corporation.  After September 11, 1991, business fell off dramatically, and we ended up having to file personal bankruptcy because of the personally guaranteed cards/loans.  The bankruptcy was discharged in 2002 and I immediately went back to my career being an executive assistant (where I remain today).  While my credit was tarnished, never, ever did I not pay my mortgage, car payment or personal credit cards that were left.  I never defaulted or was delinquent in paying (not even sure what the one is showing on my credit report!); only the business expenses were in arrers and wiped out in the bankruptcy.  You will see a public judgement which was the result of the person we were buying from, suing me as president of the company for interest he wasn't owed (it has been satisfied).  He won, but that's another story.  Anyway, I have never been able to recover from this because companies only see bankruptcy and public judgement and they judge me!  Not only that, but when you start from bankruptcy with no money in the bank, you have no choice but to charge.  I make an exceptional (to me) income, what I'm wanting to do is consolidate as many of the credit cards as I can into one lower payment.  Tired of seeing so many bills come in.  Thank you for your consideration.

WHAT I WILL DO WITH THE MONEY LOANED TO ME:

I will be paying off seven credit cards.
