I am a responsible 28 year old who racked up a good deal of credit card debt while pursuing my Masters degree (M.S. 2006 in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Davis) I am looking to pay off a $9,400 balance from my Chase account due to their excessive APR, and my general desire to quit giving them money. Although I have debt, I earn a great salary as a civil engineer at a public agency in the San Francisco bay area. My current income is approximately $65,000 after seven months of work and by this time next year it will be up to $78,000 due to fixed pay increases. My rent is low (<$500) and I commute via public transit which both keep my total fixed monthly expenses down. I have an exceptional record for on-time payments and I have zero concern about paying off this debt. Please consider this a reliable investment. My current fixed monthly budget is detailed below: Net Income after taxes & retirement: $3,919 Rent $484 Transit: $110 Phone/Internet: $8 Cellular Phone: $60 Utilities: $18 Auto Insurance: $43 Student Loans: $167 Minimum Credit Card Payments (Chase): $359 Minimum Credit Cards (Other cards): $154 Food: $300 Misc: $220 Total Expenses: $1,923 Free Cash Flow: $1,996 |
