My background is in TV Broadcast Engineering. I was employed as a
broadcast engineer at a popular cable TV station from 1989 to 2001.
Another corporation bought this company and downsized it, trimming
first at the Chief Engineer level. I've had my FCC license since 1989.
Since I love just about every thing digital I have been in business as
a freelance videographer/photographer. I've invested in pro equipment,
namely Sony vx2000 camcorder and Fuji S2 Pro SLR Digital Camera.
"Shooting" video for weddings and other special events is what I have
been doing for the last four years. Also, I'm self studying to be a
Final Cut Pro Certified Professional. And I author DVDs. Actually, I'm
a one woman production company (producer, director, editor, and camera
person). The only thing I don't do is create my own sound tracks. I
leave that to the other pros. When I need a sound track I purchase
royalty free loops, etc. for about $19.95 per series or loops or 30
second to 60 second version pieces. I get a lot of calls to duplicate personal and professional DVDs and CDs for organizatoins and individuals. I'm capable of doing it, however I do not have the duplication hardware. I'd like to get a loan to get this equipment and to help expand my business. I'm an aspiring fimmaker and I entered my first film festival contest this month. I did a 20 minute documentary and submitted it to ABFF (American Black Film Festival). They have infomed me that I made it past the intial screening so that my work will be judged to see if it is good enough for the film festival that will be held this July. They will contact all contestants by May 31st. This loan will provide a breather for me so that I can concentrate on improving and expanding my business. And becoming a Final Cut Pro Certified Professional (should I pass the certification exam) would really boost my career. This is what I do and this is my passion. And... I do great work.
