Greetings, Prosper members.  My name is Alex Coleman.  I am a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma, and I would like to become debt-free and build my credit.

In December 2006, I borrowed $3,000 from a family member in order to pay off all credit cards.  I have done so, and now I would like to pay him back!  I have already paid $1,000 on this personal loan, so I only owe $2,000 more.  I would like to pay him back as quickly as possible, and have my monthly Prosper payments be reflected on my credit report, building a good credit profile.

Since I have paid off my credit cards, my Prosper rating has gone from HR to D.  My PLUS scores are 593 from Experian, 712 from Equifax, and 711 from TransUnion.  My Experian score is probably lower than the other two because they refuse to remove my 2 DQs, which are medical bills that were in fact paid in full.  Plus, I was a minor at the time, so they should not be on my credit report at all.

Here is a summary of my monthly finances:

Paycheck from Jan 05:  $384.68
Paycheck from Jan 19:  $329.11
Total Monthly Income:  $714.00 (rounded up)

Car Insurance:  $150
Cingular:  $45
Gas:  $80
Food, Rent, Utilities, etc:  Paid by parents

Total Monthly Obligations:  $275
Total Left Over To Pay Prosper Loan:  $439

As you can see, I am more than capable of paying an estimated $80 monthly loan payment.  My DTI is extremely high due to my student loans.  They are all deferred-payment loans, which means I am not paying a single penny on them until after I graduate.

In summary, I would like to borrow $2,000 from Prosper to pay off the remainder of a $3,000 family loan.  I would like to do this through Prosper so my monthly payments would be reflected on my credit reports in order to build my credit.  I make more than enough money each month to pay back this loan, and I have no other debt except for my student loans, which again are deferred-payment loans.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me via Prosper messaging and/or acoleman@ou.edu.  Thank you for taking time to view my listing!
