Hello, We have been married for several years and moved to Richmond from Albuquerque, New Mexico to be near my husbands parents. When we moved to Richmond we purchased several rental properties (2). 5 units total. We both work full time with very secure positions; my husband for a National Publishing Company and I for a very well known Accounting and Employee Benefits Company. A few months ago we had a home owners claim on one of our rental properties. We had had some work done a few months prior on the plumbing and because of the substandard work that was performed we had a pipe explosion several months later. The owner of the company that originally did the work is terminally ill and had since closed his company. We were not able to go after his company for reimbursements. We then turned to our home owners insurance and fought for months to get the claim settled. They ended up denying the claim in the end. Our insurance agent recommended that we seek legal council to fight the denial. By this time we had to pay out of pocket for all of the expenses related to the pipe explosion. It had flooded the basement and caused a retaining wall to collapse. The flooding caused extensive damage to the heating, cooling and water units. Since we had tenants living on the premises we had to have everything fixed immediately or face legal action by our tenants and the city. Because of these massive expenses we have fallen behind on almost all our monthly bills. We have started budgeting our income diligently and have been able to catch up on most of our bills, however there are still a few that are hanging over our heads. We do have a plan to become debt free within the next 8 years. We are asking for your help to obtain a loan for $1500. We have already put our "out of debt plan" in motion and plan on using all of our excess income (rental income, 401k loans, work bonuses, etc.) to pay off outstanding delinquent balances. We also plan on using our tax refund to help pay off this loan more quickly than the terms. We ask for your help and hope that soon we will be able to help others like you are helping us. |
