My wife read about Prosper in Money and we thought it was a great idea. Our old house needs some upgrades so we decided to try Prosper instead of going to our Credit Union. They would give us the money but we wanted to line the pocket of real people instead of the big banks. We also want to try out the water before loaning money. In addition to my full time job I hold a part time job which I did not count as income ( was just above 5,000.00 in 06) and my wife works at the school so she can be with our children, we didn't count that income, (5000.00).
