ABOUT ME I am a 25 year old college student who also works fulltime. I originally grew up in south Georgia so am a country boy at heart. I have lived in Atlanta for 3 years where I have worked for the same company the entire time, and probably plan to live here for the rest of my life. My family is very very close and although I am 3 hours from them they are my world. Mainly my niece who is 7 years old. My sister also just had a new baby boy this past Saturday who is in ICU because his lungs aren't fully developed. Please keep him in your prayers. My sister will be out of work for several weeks with no pay so I am going to give a little of this loan to her to help out. Please see below for details. WHY I HAVE BAD CREDIT At the beginning of 2006 I was rebuilding my credit and had my score around 600. Due to stupid mistakes such as worrying more about having a good time and partying I got behind on a few bills. I made some bad choices for roomates which also left me high and dry in a few situations. I was too busy worrying about relationships that I didn't make sure to look after myself. Lesson learned. Nobody will take care of me but me. School and work are my 2 main priorities now because I want to make sure that I have a good future. The 3 DQs that are showing up on my credit are recent ones due to the strain on my finances with me and my ex spliltting. One was my truck payment which was settled on the 15th of this Dec. The other 2 were credit cards which have also been settled as I am now going through a debt counseling service for all of my revolving accounts. Therefore I really don't have any on my record. I am just waiting for them to drop from my credit report as being current DQ's. WHAT I WILL DO WITH THE LOAN I plan to pay off a few things that I owe. They are listed below. cell phone $500 home phone $250 settle with apartment $400 (they worked with me to move into a 1 bedroom when I was left high and dry but I still owe them)loans from friends $350 loan from dad $1000 help sister who just had baby $500 INCOMEIncome after taxes: $2300 Rent: $750 Truck: $425 Insurance: $125 Utilities: $100 Credit cards: $200 Cable: $50 Cell phone: $75-(I now have a prepaid phone which costs about $25 per month. That's one change from the previous listing.)Gas: $200 Groceries: $100 This leaves an additional $325 per month which will more than cover this loan. FINAL NOTE TO LENDERSI have made several stupid mistakes and take the blame for them. I have learned my lesson the hard way and will always look after myself before others as to not be in this situation again. I have finally taken the time to sit down and make a budget for myself, and can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. With this loan from Prosper, I plan to be completely debt free (other than rent and utilities and such) within the 3 years that this loan is for. That includes all revolving accounts, truck payment, as well as this loan. I can only imagine how great of a feeling that will be. We all make mistakes which put us through hard times, but realizing those mistakes and learning from them is what can change a person's life forever. Those mistakes have been realized and noted, and 2007 is the beginning of my new financial life for me. |
