About Me I have been reading a lot about prosper over the last few months and have decided to take the plunge =) I live in the beautiful state of Colorado and work in the IT field. I have been working in this field for the last 5 years and love it. There is always a new challenge around the corner. I bought my first home a little over a year ago and have around 10k of equity in it. I am currently working with a credit councilor to get out of debt and consolidate some of my loans. I am working hard and plan to pay off all my debts, except for the house, within the next year. My Current Finances Total Income - $3600 net take home a month Expenses Food - $300 Car 1 - $330 Car 2 - $220 Utilities - $200 Housing - $1543 Credit Cards / Loans - $650 Misc - $120 Total = $3363 3600 - 3363 = $237 left after expenses. I owe $1,217 left on the 2nd car which is a 64 VW bus. Once that is paid off, or sold, I will have an extra $220 a month for these payments. I will also get a hefty tax return this year of around $2,000. I plan to put the majority of that here to pay off this loan. Credit My credit is in poor shape right now. I am working with a councilor to get everything under control. I made a few mistakes and lived beyond my means for a while. I now know the dangers of credit cards and plan to only buy items with cash in the future. Why Prosper? I have decided to come to prosper mainly because I really liked the idea of this site. I know I will get a better interest rate here then any bank could offer and once everything is paid off I would like to give back to this community. Thank you very much for your consideration.
