Consolidate my credit card debt Hello, and thanks for looking! I am requesting this loan so that I may consolidate my credit card debt into one payment at a lower interest rate. I will tell you a little bit about myself below, and explain to you why I am a good candidate for this loan. I am a second year, full time student at Ferris State University, a mid-sized school in Northern Michigan. I have a major in communications with a minor in political science. I am a member of the debate team, and I am currently looking into getting involved in student government. I also work as a student employee for the university as a technology support specialist, and I earn about $100 a week. While I am limited by the school in the number of hours I can work during fall and winter semesters, I work full time during the summer, earning about $200 a week. I began my college career with a single credit card for emergencies. I will admit, I was not very responsible with it. I ran the card almost to its limit, telling myself I was going to pay it off but rarely making more than the minimum payment. Then, when an actual emergency arose and I no longer had enough credit to cover it, I got a second card. My goal is to have this debt paid off in less than 1 year, and I feel that consolidating it will be a big help. I understand that my poor credit rating is going to make it tough for you to want to lend to me, but I assure to you that my low score is due to my short credit history and poor balance-to-limit ratios on my credit cards. I can assure you, and I am willing to provide whatever proof of this that you may request, that I have never missed a payment on either credit card or anything else. Having $1600 dollars of high-interest debt hanging over my head has made me realize that my actions were irresponsible and downright stupid. I want to be rid of this debt, and having one payment to make at a lower interest rate will be a big help. As I stated before, my goal is to have this debt paid for in less than a year. Thank you. |
