Hi. My name is Dave and I am a veteran of the Navy. I served as a nuclear machinist's mate on the Theodore Roosevelt for four years. I am currently a field engineer working at power plants across the country. I found prosper.com through a Firefox extension called "Stumble Upon". I did some research, joined, and have experimentally bid on several loans and have 400 dollars invested so far. Now I am taking the next step: borrowing money taking advantage of my good credit rating, and using the money to fund loans for fellow veterans, assuming the increased risk personally. Several people that I served with were using food stamps to get by. Some would get payday loans from usurous lenders to get by to till the end of the month, paying exhorbitant fees. I would like to participate more in Prosper to help force payday lenders to lower their rates by competition. Thanks for viewing my listing. |
