About us: I am 25 years old; my girlfriend is 29 years old. We've known each other for over 6 years and are in it for life.  We have 2 cats and 3 rats.  I recently accepted a better job is a Computer Technician at better pay, and am happier than I was at my previous job.  My girlfriend works as a File Assistant for a law firm, and she has been with the same company for 4 1/2 years.

Noell writes: I started at the U of Oregon, thanks to financial aid and loans.  I graduated with a degree and a $30,000 loan debt, and no job.  Moved to Portland and found work as a data entry operator for a retail store.  I was out on my own and making ends meet.  A year later, I was laid off.  I found work at temp agencies, but it was hard to keep on top of bills.  Later, I got a temp-to-hire job in a law firm.  It was a mail clerk position, but it was a job.  My boyfriend didn't fare as well.  Old credit card bills were getting out of control, and I couldn't keep up.  I played with the idea of declaring bankruptcy.  I knew it would lower my credit score, but it would still help me later.  I declared bankruptcy in 2005 and erased some debts, except the student loan.  I want to become a Paralegal but I can't borrow any money for school until that's paid off.  We need to move into a cheaper apartment, so we can put money away for a down payment on a house.

Randy writes: My girlfriend and I have known each other for 6 years.  We both have had to deal with trouble in our lives.  We hit some rough spots and were somehow able to make it through.  We have the battle scars (bad credit and some debt to pay off), but now we both have good jobs and are able to make ends meet.  We would like to be able to tie up some loose ends and pay off some debts which are still hounding us.  We also want to move into something cheaper and nicer, to save money for a house eventually.  My girlfriend wants to get her Paralegal certificate and I would like to get my Computer and Electronics Technician degree.  We are asking for $1,500 to get back on track.

HERE'S OUR MONTHLY FINANCIAL INFO:

When we get back on our feet, we want to become Prosper lenders and help out people just like us.  We feel that everyone deserves a second chance, and we want to help other folks achieve their goals too!

Thank you!

:-)
