About Me

I graduated from Judson College in May 2005 after working 30-35 hours per week for 4 years to put myself thru school. Upon graduation, I was hired by my college to do Public Relations and Event Planning. Three months ago, I accepted a position as a Leasing Consultant in the Chicago area with AMLI, a reputable apartment management company.

About my Credit

I did rely in part on credit cards while in college. Even so, I have an excellent payment history and realize the importance of keeping it that way! I believe I am a D with ScoreX due to having balances on all of my cards.

I owe the following:
$1500 to Key Bank @ 22% Pay off with Prosper
$900 to 1st Financial Bank @ 24% Pay off with Prosper
$500 to Capital One @ 20% Pay off with Prosper
$400 to MobilExxon @ 22% Pay off with Prosper
$400 to LensCrafters @ 31% Pay off with Prosper
$300 to The Buckle @ 24% Pay off with Prosper
$300 to American Eagle @ 23% Pay off with Prosper

I am looking to pay off the cost-of-living debt I incurred while a student so that I can focus and continue to work towards achieving the goals I have set for myself.

About my Income

As a leasing consultant, I have a base salary of $26,000 plus commissions. While I am able to earn commissions throughout the year, the winter is a slow period for leasing. Right now, my net income is approximately $1700 per month. That will increase in the spring.

My expenses:
$455--student loans
$425--rent payment
$40--utilities
$200--credit card payments (minimum payments for 10 different accounts)
$32--child sponsorship
$100--groceries
$100--gas
$100--car insurance
$50--miscellaneous/living expenses
TOTAL: $1,502

While I am making my payments on time, I am not able to set much aside monthly for an emergency fund. I have cut down on "extra" living expenses (cell phone and cable) and this loan will allow me to consolidate my credit card debt, saving me the costs of rapidly increasing interest rates on multiple accounts.

Right now, I am paying $200 per month making minimum payments on 10 credit accounts - which get sucked up in interest so I am making no progress. With this loan, I would like to simplify things by making only one payment that would be paid off in full in under 3 years.

My plans for this loan:

Pay off the 7 larger accounts (above). In addition, I have requested a temporary forbearance on the rest of my student loans for 4 months and will apply $455 per month to pay off the rest of my ?small? credit card accounts. I am starting at 25% APR because I realize that lenders deserve a competitive interest rate. I hope to see my rate bid down!
