The first reason that I'm applying for this loan is that I am truly excited by the concept of the Prosper marketplace. I found it through the Wall Street Journal just TODAY, and I'm already sold. I'd like to take a small loan to establish myself here, and to familiarize myself with the workings of Prosper.com. I don't have trouble getting loans, and have a good relationship with the Business Accounts manager at my local branch of Citibank. That said, I find the idea (and implementation) of a person-to-person lending model absolutely thrilling. I'd also like to use this loan application to attract the attention of any groups that might be interested in considering me for membership. I own and operate two restaurants, one of which is starting its 13th year this June, the other begins its 4th year of business this July. Both are located in the neighborhood in which I reside, BROOKLYN, NY! I started the first restaurant in 1993 with six thousand measly bucks from my savings. It's been a long hard road, but business is good. In the second restaurant I have realized revenue growth of 30% year over year. The first restaurant funded the start-up of the second, and has continued to provide cash for personal income. I have retained an attorney to begin application for liquor licenses for each of the restaurants. The cost of the licenses, including all of the capital improvements needed to meet the requirements for licensing approval is approximately $14,000.00 I have this money on hand. I would like to purchase a smoker for the second restaurant. At present, we offer ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket, which are really good, but with the addition of a smoker they'll be dynamite. I intend to purchase a "smokaroma" unit, which does not require additional venting. I think I can pick one up on Ebay for about 2,000. I have reached break-even in the second restaurant, but I'm just dying to get smoker. Repayment is not a problem. My debts are minimal, and I own two cash businesses. Thanks for your time; I look forward to hearing from you.
