Hi, My name is Daron, and my wife and I are trying to make some positive changes in our lives so that we can get as good a start as possible in our married life. We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary. My wife is a wonderful lady from Fukuoka, Japan and is in this country to study dancing as well as to hone her performance skills. She's really a wonderful talent, and things for her are starting to pick up as far as recognition and opportunities for advancement. We both come from modest backgrounds and our families really haven't been in a position to offer us the normal type of financial assistance that one might expect upon getting married. Since we have been married, we have had to struggle and to work hard for everything we have ever needed, and are pretty much on our own in this very toughest of towns to live in and afford...New York. Times are difficult in that I have the financial burden of supporting both of us due to her role as a student and artist, and her presently limited ability to generate income. In the meantime, our current apartment lease here in New York is ending at the end of this month, and we do not have the option to continue living here. We have been saving so that by this month we could find a more affordable place and be able to cover all of the security deposits and moving expenses, but circumstances have not gone entirely our way...Hana's Mother who had been holding her own in her battle against breast cancer has taken a turn for the worse in the past two months, and the trips necessary for us to be able to go to Japan (we thought she was going to pass away last month), have been utterly disruptive to the modest savings we had put aside. This loan will insure our ability to move us beyond scrounging between each of my current pay checks in order to find a new, more reasonably affordable apartment which will then put us in a position to lower our monthly expenditures and to start SAVING more money for our future together. It will help us to get our life together back onto the best track as opposed to the dangerous one we are now edging upon. Please feel secure that your money will be paid back in a timely way. On my end, I am a graduate of Princeton University and I work in marketing in the field of qualitative research. In case you are wondering, I was not one of the spoiled rich kid or legacy children that went to Princeton and, in my opinion, discredit our university. Rather, I was the kid that worked hard in the cafeteria, libraries, and computer labs working around class hours so that I could pay for my education, and pay off all of the student loans later. I am happy to say that I did that on my own. I am an incredibly hard worker and if you knew me, you would find me to be one of the most reliable, loyal, and trustworthy persons you have ever met. I have just been offered a promotion and will be making more money as of next month which will more than allow me to afford the loan installments, but since this doesn't kick in until AFTER May 1st, it doesn't help with the immediate moving/apartment situation. If anyone can find it possible to help, this would be a wonderful event. The loan money will allow us to cover the deposit and security on our next apartment and will free us up to use our "in pocket" money for immediate needs, including the unfortunate next trip to Japan when we expect to be visiting for my Mother-in-law's funeral. Thanks for taking the time to read this, as we are both hoping for an Easter miracle this week, and appreciate your willingness to help us in giving us a hand up out of this precarious situation. Best, Daron Kent [LAST NAME DELETED] (& Hana) |
