My wife and I already own a rental apartment in Kiev Ukraine that is being managed by our relatives who live in Kiev. The property has appreciated approximately 50% and the rental income is returning roughly 6% annually on our original investment. We would like to expand to a second apartment and we have approximately 3/4 the amount needed to purchase a suitable property. We would like to secure financing in the United States to simplify payments, minimize our interest rate and minimize costs for international money transfers. Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and is one of the largest cities in Europe with a population of approximately 2.6 million. Kiev has emerged from soviet era depression and is currently experiencing rapid growth as they strengthen ties with the west. While Ukraine does present some risks we have cautiously considered the risks and believe that they do not jeopardize our financial situation. We are both employed full time in the United States and earn in excess of $180k /year and are capable of paying the loan balance even if both apartments cannot be rented. |
