I am married with four kids. We have a decent income but it seems like something comes up every time we get ahead. I had an undetected medical condition (treatable and not life threatening) that generated lots of bills. We got those covered then had our first child. One of our children was very sick as a toddler and due to poor health benefits at the time we had thousands of uncovered medical expenses. FInally got over that and bought a house closer to my husband's work place so he could have more time with the kids. Two hours before the closing on our old house (the new house closing was first) the buyers backed out and walked away. Two years later we finally sold the house at a huge loss because of all the monthly expenses and payments. We actually helped the couple buying the house out at closing so they would not walk away. It felt good to help them out but it was a huge financial drain to just have that house for so long.

We are working on getting the bills under control. Slowly but surely we are. Three of the kids are in braces and that is a lot of out of pocket expense even after what the insurance covers and take that times three and it is a lot.

Our monthly income is about 5,500 from regular paychecks. House payment 1700.00 Cars 850 Credit Cards 450.00 Consumer debt 150 Student loan 198.00 medical (not covered by insurance) 350 Utilities 400.00
We have a small variable income from my home based business which averages 200 - 300 per month

I promise to pay every month. I am set in my determination to get us out of debt and to start building some wealth. College is ahead for us and we want to get ready for that.
