I am a 48 year old, married female. I have been a secretary for the same company for 18 years, owned and lived in the same home for 16 years. For the last couple of years I have been working a part-time job (one that I can do from home in the evenings and on weekends) to help pay off some old credit card debt and have made good progress in doing this. However, this part-time employer did not with-hold Federal taxes, and I underestimated the deductions I would need to have made from my full-time income to offset this. As a result, I owed $1100 for 2004 and will owe $300 for 2005. I made arrangements with the IRS to make payments of $75 a month for the 2004 taxes and after making payments for the last year, I still owe them $1000 due to the penalties and interest they charge. At this time, I cannot afford to increase the monthly payment by an amount that will make a dent, not to mention the additional $300 for 2005. I have made the necessary adjustments on my deductions to prevent this from happening again. I also have 2 credit cards that I would like to pay off a this time. Obtaining this loan will lower my monthly payments for these 3 balances by $100 and will allow me to actually pay this off instead of seeing my money thrown away to penalties and interest. I hope to be debt free within 3 years. Please help. Thank you. |
