Who am I?

I am 32 years old, single, and currently reside in a suburb of San Diego.  After working in customer service and retail management for over 13 years, I decided to follow my dreams and go into business for myself.  I do freelance writing work for a business news website and own a handful of websites including my own art and jewelry businesses (http://www.salondemaria.info).

I have been on my own since I was eighteen years old. I basically lived off credit card and student loans. There were times when I was unemployed which put me behind on my payments. My student loans are in default which led to my poor credit rating.

I joined Prosper to rebuild my credit and eventually help others rebuild their credit too.  I plan on taking out a series of small loans through Prosper which I have every intention of paying back.  I am determined and willing to make my payments on time!

My short-term goal is to increase my credit rating to ?B? status by March 2007.  As my income increases, I would like to reinvest back the money into other Prosper members.   My long-term goal is to eventually be able to use my good credit rating to purchase my very own home and open an art center here in San Diego.

What I will do with the money loaned to me:

I would like to expand my jewelry business in order to increase my income.  Here is a breakdown of where the money will go:

$100 - Canopy for outdoor events including the local swap meet on the weekends and upcoming holiday events
$100 - Tables and fixtures to display my jewelry
$400 - Jewelry making materials and purchase wholesale jewelry from overseas
$100 - Marketing and advertising
$500 - Hire a website designer to redesign my website
$800 - Pay off small collection accounts to increase credit rating
$550 - Amount left to leave me sufficient to be able to pay back my Prosper loan

My Monthly Financial Details:

Net income from my writing contracts and jewelry business:  $1,400

Rent and Utilities:  $365
Phone:  $30
Food: $200
Insurance: $84
Cable:  $29
Computer payments: $168
Website hosting: $25
Business Operating Expenses and materials: $150
Transportation:  $65
-------
Total Monthly Expenses: $1,116

Remaining income that I can use to make my monthly payments on the Prosper loan:  $284

I would be very grateful for the chance to get my life back on track.  Thank you for taking that chance on me!  If you would like to learn more about me and my philosophies on life, visit me at The Good Life (http://www.salondemaria.blogspot.com).

Peace and blessings ;)
