Hello, I am currently a lender on Prosper, and I thought I would place a loan listing to see how the service works from the borrower's perspective. I have set aside the principle amount of this loan in a separate account, so that repayment is not an issue. I am a 6th-year attorney at one of the world's 10 largest law firms. I am currently carrying a bit higher balance on my cards than I would like, but that is because I just took my parents to DC to watch me get sworn in to the US Supreme Court -- and expensive trip, but it was worth it and it meant a lot to them -- so, that amount will be paid off with my next paycheck. As for my debt-to-income ratio, this include mortgages on 4 rental properties -- all 4 are currently rented out -- the mortgage payments show up on my credit report, but I did not include the rental income because it is more difficult to verify than simply sending Prosper a paystub. You will also notice that my credit grade is only a "C", but I do not show any deliquencies -- this is because I have 3 cards that are basically maxed out because I received very low-rate "life of the balance" balance transfer offers from a couple cards, so I am paying them down as slowly as possible because the interest they are charging now less than what my bank pays on a basic savings account. Thank you for your consideration. Have a GREAT day. |
