My name is David, I am a 25 hard-working professional and am looking to Prosper to be the last step in my climb out of debt I have been in since graduating from college.

My parents encouraged me to attend a good private college but it turned out to be a bit more than I or they could afford, even with financial aid. Most of the last year of school I footed myself between loans and credit cards.

I am happy to say I have paid off over half of my total credit card debt but have about $11.5k left at a painful 19% APR. If prosper can help me cut that rate by even a few percent it would save me several hundred dollars - even over $1,000.

My first job was actually at a personal finance magazine (ironic considering the hole I?d dug myself); but there I learned quite a bit about living below your means and investing for the future. Since then I have lived solely to get out of debt. Once I do that I?ll finally be able to relax a bit and think about nicer things like getting married and owning a home.

Today I live very frugally, do not use credit cards for anything anymore, and in addition to my full-time job in marketing, I work more than 20 hours a week part-time. Despite my debts I have managed to save a small emergency fund and have a growing 401k.

My monthly cash flow is strong, after paying the bills (including $400 to the credit card) I save $250 and have $200 or so left over.
