Hi! My name is Ed and I work for the Security Department at a Rehabilitation Hospital in Honolulu. I have been employed by the hospital for 10 years. I recently completed an educational program in Occupational Health & Safety and really got a lot of satisfaction in the learning process.  I am very proud of having earned that certificate! The program was an intense 5 month program. During this time I also continued to work.

The experience has motivated me to continue with my education and I am now registered to enter a Nursing Program scheduled to begin in the Winter of 2006. We are currently experiencing a Nursing shortage in the US and the demand for employment in Hawaii is at an all time high. I expect to be gainfully employed immediately after earning my Associate degree which will take me 2 years. The reason I am requesting this loan is to pay a debt I owe my Mother. When I decided to go to school, she offered to help me with my educational expenses with a lump sum loan to be paid after I was done with my education. Because she offered the loan at zero interest, I gladly took it. Well, I have concluded that THERE IS a price to pay! This loan, although at zero interest, is NOT FREE. It's actually an enormous burden.

I would much prefer to pay this debt back to you WITH INTEREST, than be "guilt tripped" for two more years because of this debt obligation to my Mother. Furthermore, I'm already sacrificing enough by living with her while I go to school - don't need any more emotional torture with the additional burden of this loan hanging over my head. I will pay this Prosper loan off by the income I earn at the hospital. I will be working full-time until the Winter term begins (December) and I will continue to work while going to school, although I will be reducing my hours.  As I will continue to draw an income even while in school, I expect to pay this loan off earlier than the 3 year term. Thanks in advance for your support!
