    I am requesting a loan to partially finance the steps I am taking to get engaged. My girlfriend and I take a yearly trip with a group of good friends and I would like to use this opportunity to ?pop the question.? It will be in a tropical setting in a place that is one our favorite locations. The Caribbean is pretty much the extent of my ?world travels?, but it is a place that we have enjoyed together on a couple of occasions. The total estimated cost of my plan is closing in on $10,000. This total includes the price of the engagement ring, the air and hotel vacation package, spending money while there, and some money to go towards some of the monthly bills while we are away.              
    The amount that I am requesting help with from Prosper lenders is $4,800.  I have been saving money and have been able to cover a large portion of the total that I need. I have purchased the vacation package ($2,300) and have some spending money ($1,500) put away for the trip. I have searched online and in a couple of jewelry stores to estimate the ring price. The ring type that I think she will like will probably cost $4,500-$5,500. I have posted a picture showing the basic design of what the ring may look like.             
    Although my Prosper rating is a D from past debts and mistakes, I am currently in the best financial shape of my life.  Over the past two years I have paid off any past debts that I found on my credit report but they still remain until the seven years period has elapsed. I have taken my student loans out of default and am current on all accounts that I have open.  Since starting my current job 3 years and 4 months ago, I have been placing $200 per month into an Edward Jones investment account. I recently used about half of this money to pay off all credit card debt in an attempt to help repair my credit. I am hoping to get this Prosper loan because I would prefer an affordable monthly payment rather than have to use up the balance of my savings. I would like to have that money in the case of an emergency and also with the hopes of buying a house/condo in the next couple of years. This savings is hopefully going towards a down payment on a home.  And this Prosper loan repayment will also help to improve the credit rating that I currently have.              
    As I have stated before, I have been at my current job for a little over 3 years. I work as a bartender at a bar that has been open for over ten years. The two bar owners and myself are primarily the only ones that bartend on a regular basis, so I feel very secure with the position that I have.  I put in close to 50 hours per week and am on salary plus the tips that I make during my shifts. Through October of this year, I have averaged a take home pay of $3,500 per month.  My monthly rent is only $450 per month as I live with 2 roommates.  The electric, phone, internet, and gas usually run close to $200 each per month. I do not have a car payment or any other substantial payments that I have to make each month. I regularly pay off my credit cards on a monthly basis. I know that I will not have any problem in making this Prosper payment. This loan would let me move forward on the plan that I have for the next couple of years.  And it would be much more convenient for me by not having to deplete the savings that I have slowly built. If anyone needs any more information or has any questions, I am available to answer whatever you may need.  Thank you in advance for considering this loan.
