Dear Prosper Lenders, I bring to you a request for a loan in the amount of $1800, with an interest rate of 17% (my state rate cap). The loan will be used to bring us current on various monthly expenses and to pay down medical bills as result of a complicated pregnancy. Our Credit: While our credit report has been vetted by our group leader SophTommy00, allow me an opportunity to explain the negative items that appear: After a failed business attempt and significant medical costs, my wife and I were forced to declare bankruptcy. Two other public records that were satisfied also remain and were casualties of the business as well. Until recently, I have been the sole income provider - which made it difficult for us to consistently make timely payments on our remaining trade line - a car lease through GMAC - the only current delinquency. Our Income: I have secured stable employment as a unionized mason tender. My wife now also employed and able to contribute to our household income (a pay stub is viewable at http://www.putfile.com/stradtke ). While my position in the union is secure, the actual work is very weather and project dependent. However, as a union member, I am guaranteed a significant unemployment benefit. It is that minimum amount reflected in our budget. Please note that my normal pay is $2900/month (a pay stub is viewable at http://www.putfile.com/stradtke ), nearly $1500 more that the amount used for our budget. Our go forward plan: Given our improved household cash flow, we intend to adopt greater fiscal discipline. However, we do need a little push to get us there. Once we are current, we will be more than able to meet our monthly obligations, while contributing to an emergency fund every month. Our medical bills will be entirely paid off within two years. Once we have achieved a steady state, we hope to make additional tweaks to our spending that will further enhance our position. A detailed view of our budget and proposed use of this loan is available at http://www.putfile.com/stradtke We appreciate your interest. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email or on my forum thread. Thanks for looking. Shane |
