Hi!!! I am a single parent of a wonderful 12 year old daughter.  We love hanging out, playing sports, and watching movies together.  We've been through some tough times over the last few years, but here we are now not just surviving - loving life.  That's why my username is gottasmile.  Even when times are hard, you have to just keep on going and smile.  You'll make it through - nowhere to go put up!  That was my motto when I had hit the bottom. Although divorce may seem common place in America, you feel like you are all alone.  It's ashame that so many lives are impacted by it today.

I just want to settle my credit card debt and move on from here.  It's the only thing that is still holding me down from the divorce.  Wow, what a learning experience!  My bank will not give me a loan because I do not currently own a home.  I can't own a home until I get out of this credit card debt...it's a cycle.

I've worked with my credit card companies to agree to a settlement on the balances and permanently close the accounts.  There are two accounts 1) $16,435.90 current balance and 2) $24238.62 current balance - these cards were part of a divorce dispute.  I have negotiated a settlement of $9000 and $7000 as long as it is paid in a lump sum.  I have $4000 already saved for this purpose.

I have a budget monthly which will allow me to make more than the monthly payments required for this loan.  In fact, in 4 months my car will be paid off and that will free up another $500 a month.  I just want an opportunity to start over and own a home for my daughter (and our puppy named Benny).

Discussion For This Listing

Any thoughts on how someone gets a A credit grade with multiple deliquencies? I've seen Prosper assign A ratings to individuals with multiple deliquencies and wondering if their scoring can be trusted.
