I am a woman entrepreneur building and expanding a tea business, one of the first of its kind in the U.S. My tea business specializes in premium tea, the kind that connoisseurs love the world over. America has yet to discover premium tea, but as they are finding olive oils, gourmet cheeses and breads, and fine chocolates, it will be a matter of time before they can discern what the best teas are. I am building my tea business through education and experience- a tea tasting bar at my new tea shop will feature flights of teas served gong fu style, with expert bar tenders who can describe and educate the client on the tastes and nuances of fine teas. I have been in business for 5 years, have built a loyal fan and customer base, and just recently moved my tea shop to a new location, a prime retail center known for its high end shops. My partner is a well known designer and we are building the shop out of our own pocket. Well, construction always costs more than estimated, and we need some funding to complete our shop, in time to open for the holidays! |
