>I was a Catholic priest and member of a Religious Order for over 20 years before leaving the priesthood and beginning life anew in 2002. During my time of job searching and getting established in my new way of life I lived off my credit cards. Not a smart choice, I know, but it was all I had available to me at the time. My first job was at a private high school that did not pay well, but I was able to make a little headway in paying off my debt. For the past 21/2 years I have been working for the city as well as any part time jobs that I can manage including doing wedding ceremonies, light maintenance work, whatever comes my way - all of it going towards my debt. However, with the high interest rates, I have decided to go this route to bring down my monthly payments and get rid of the cards. |
