Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to pay off credit card debt. Throughout my four years in college, I put about $12,000 on a credit card for various living expenses and during my time studying abroad. I am looking to pay that off and establish that debt at a lower interest rate with this loan. My financial situation: I am a good candidate for this loan because… I am a young professional working in the finance/consulting business. Last year, my income from work was $125,000; this year my expected income from work is $145,000. I have $9,000 tied up in a savings account that I can not get out until July being used as a deposit on my apartment (5 months rent). I have ~$20,000 tied up in liquid investments (Bonds/money market funds) that I do not want to get out because of tax implications. I am single and no have no responsibility other than for myself. My monthly expenses are roughly as follows: $1,750 rent $50 cable/internet $400 food $200 entertainment $400 interest payments on student loans/credit cards $100 transportation $300 other I have an amazing credit score, never have been late on any credit card or student loan payment ever. I consider my ability to pay off this loan, and I will probably pay it off early, at very near 100% barring any unforeseen event (I would say I'm safer than some of the banks out there in this environment). I have a safe full time job that I have been at over a year and have a business degree from a top Ivy League University. I watch my expenses closely and try to save as much as I can. Paying a lower interest rate on this debt will help me get this debt paid off sooner.
