Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to… pay off a high 2 interest credit cards ($2,000 at 28% and $6,000 at 18%). My financial situation: I'm willing to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve financial independence for my family. I'm dependable and pay my bills on time. I'm a hard working single mother, working for a large law firm as a Legal Assistant/Secretary since 1991. I poured all of my savings into my first home just as the real estate market was heading on a downturn in 2006. Within a couple of months of moving into the property, the HOA implemented a special assessment ($19,000 per homeowner) to complete repairs to the property. As you can imagine, the special assessment has caused financial stress. I am working diligently to stay afloat. I would like to pay off the high interest rate credit cards in order to improve and maintain a good credit rating. Consolidating/paying off the high interest credit cards would assist me in my goal of continuing to providing a healthy and secure life for my child.
