I've been a San Antonio Police Officer for 7yrs and have fallen a little behind on my bills due to a divorce. I'm not too far behind but if I let it go further without any attention, it will get worse. My debt to income ratio is a little high due to 2 mortgages and a vehicle I cosigned, my soon to be ex is taking one of the mortgages and I cosigned for my brother who has never missed a payment so far on the vehicle loan. I spent 4 yrs active duty Army, 4 yrs Texas National Guard, and 2 yrs with the Navy Reserve. I have always taken responsibility for my actions and believe in the golden rule on and off duty. I have a secure career and my income actually increases as the years pass. I plan to pay off the loan before the designated time given. I have given my time to people who need me, not because its my job, but because I believe in helping others when they feel they have no one to turn to... it is very hard for me to ask, let alone accept help, but I have 2 kids living with me and they don't deserve to suffer due to my temporary financial struggle.
