Purpose of loan:
This loan will be used to leverage my years of experience in the internet industry (see 'My experience' below) and expand my Websites, add several online stores to current established sites, as well as, begin offering Web services to small businesses.

Current business:
In between full-time consulting and executive jobs I've managed to create a number of Websites that are now generating over 20,000 unique visitors and 80,000 pageviews per month through organic means (i.e. search engines, no $ spent on advertising). I am in the process of adding online stores to begin monetizing the traffic on these sites. In addition, I'm opening an internet services practice to include: consulting, domain names, hosting, Web development & design, internet marketing, and IT services.

My experience:
I have over 20 years of successful business experience and an excellent track record. I started and built a multi-million dollar computer wholesale business in the late 80's and early 90's before selling it to a public company. This business was started with two $3,000 cash advances using my credit cards. At the time of sale we were 65 people strong and selling over $5 million a month in computer equipment. I'm proud to say the business is still thriving with several of the same key players working there.

Hired as President of an internet portal for government contractors I was instrumental in overhauling the site's go-to-market strategy and 11 months after I started we (4 partners) sold it to a public company for several million.

I've held VP Marketing, Director of Sales, and other senior management positions at both IT and internet companies that are well known by the public.

Reason for using Prosper:
I'm an entrepreneur. I thrive on being an entrepreneur and working with entrepreneurs. I'm looking forward to doing less consulting work for the large "corporates" and doing more with my rapidly growing Websites and marketing internet services to other internet entrepreneurs. Prosper is as entrepreneurial as it gets and I want this tool to be an important ingredient in the success of this business expansion.

 

My wife of 23 years and I have owned the same home on 12 acres near Dulles Airport for over 20 years. We have 4 boys that have all been raised here. Point? We're here to stay.

 

We have no debt (including credit card) other then one mortgage and two car loans. Point? Prosper is not a last-resort effort. It's our preferred vehicle for working capital for our internet business.
