Caveat:  I know I?m HR asking for 20% interest.  It?s because of my state cap.  Sorry!

Hello!  I'm trying to get into an apartment.  It's right by my school and work and it's one of the only complexes in the area that's reasonably priced.  Problem is, they ran a credit check on me and saw that I owe money to a previous apartment complex and now it's gone into collections status.  I will be unable to move in until there's a zero balance on that account.

The reason I owe them money is because when I moved in, I was fresh out of high school and made the rookie mistake of signing a lease on a two-bedroom by myself and trusting that my soon-to-be roommate was going to move in, too.  Well, she didn't and I ended up paying all the rent for a two-bedroom with the money I made working at a diner.  I ended up so far behind that I had to break my lease and moved in with a relative.

Since then, I've slowly but surely worked my way up to my current position working for a local technical school and I also picked up a part-time job at a restaurant nearby for the weekends. My credit is not the best...I have the money owed to the apartment complex ($1700) plus a medical bill in collections status ($300).  Otherwise, I have student loans in deferment, since I'm a current student, and an auto loan that I've paid on time every single month since I received it this past March.  The other $500 requested is for the apartment deposit and application fee.

All of my bills are set up to be auto-debited each month when I get paid.  It is very important at this time in my life that I finally get caught up with my debt nightmare and get my credit in good standing.

I make $1700/month after taxes and these are my bills:

Rent: 550
Auto/Renter's Insurance: 103
Utilities: 40
Auto Loan: 228
Phone: 60Gas: 75
Food/Groceries: 100
Medicine: 40

There is room in my budget for a loan payment as you can see.  Please know that my goal here is to get things cleaned up so that I may have the stress-free life I wish I could have had to begin with.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
