Purpose of loan: The purpose of my asking for this loan is so that I can have enough money to cover tuition, books, and living costs for this upcoming school year. My financial situation: My financial situation is one that is a bit tight. I am entering my 3rd year in college and have financial aid which includes a loan, a grant, and a scholarship but does not cover all of my college costs. My parents try to help me with my college costs but it is hard on them. I have four other siblings and out of all five of us, three attend University. My mother only works because my father is disabled and cannot work. A few years ago my mother was laid off from her job and her good credit declined because of it. She is not able to get approved for Parent loans due to her credit. My mother is now making a decent income but because of the set back, living needs, and such other things, my parents are not able to contribute to my college funds as much as they would like. I have an on-campus job and that income and a little help from my parents helps me pay for my rent, groceries, and other minor monthly payments. My school bill builds up and we struggle trying to pay for it due to other costs. I have tried to cut down school costs by moving off campus and getting a small meal plan. This has helped lower the costs of room and board but has not cut down the financial burden enough. I would like to be able to study at school without having money problems on my mind. Taking all of this into consideration, I think that I am a good candidate for a student loan.
