Purpose of loan: To Pay Off Debt from My Ex Husband My financial situation: I am a good candidate for this loan because I have worked hard over the last 4 years to pay off my ex-husband's charges on my credit cards instead of filing for bankruptcy. I am responsible and have a good job that I have worked at for over 8 years. I'm like everyone else just trying to pay my bills and enjoy life. Four years ago I married a younger man who wasn't who he said he was. I found out too late after extending my home, my credit, buying him a car, putting clothes in his closet and getting him a job. He tapped everything I had including savings. I have spent the last 3.5 years paying off over $50,000 in credit card debt he racked up. I opted to not file bankruptcy and did a debt management program instead to work with the banks to reduce the interest rate. The banks held me responsible because I authorized his use of the cards. Now I find out that he didn't claim income on our joint tax returns and the Tax Board is now coming after me because they can't find him. I have never been late once on the repayment of this debt and do not currently have any credit cards. I tried getting a loan to pay off the tax debt but cannot get one because of the debt management program I use. I am trying to avoid a wage garnishment and have two weeks to find the money to pay this bill. I am only one year away from paying all of his debt off and now this. I am looking for a loan with a rate and amount that I can realistically pay back not a loan shark who wants to charge me an extreme interest rate that racks up more interest than principal. I am not looking for a handout or a gift of money. I am being responsible for something that happened because I made poor choice. I can pay back the loan in a year if the rate is reasonable. |
