Purpose of loan: To pay off remaining high-interest
credit cards and to pay for a leadership-training program that will help
prepare me to make the difference I want to make in the world.
Almost to the finish line ?. My life's greatest triumph is that I raised two successful,
happy and responsible children as a single mother. My kids are grown now and
involved in creating their own great lives. I will be 60 in a few months, am in
good health and great spirits, working a job I love and singing with a group
dedicated to traditional music and working to foster community through music.
One of my passions is the work I?m doing with a local organization committed to
creating a regional sustainable agriculture system. Going forward, I want to be
free of high-interest debt, with as much financial security as I can create for
myself. Over the years I got into serious financial difficulties,
primarily through providing for my children with liberal use of credit cards.
In 2000, I was unemployed for a year and survived by using my savings, then
living on credit cards ? a lousy idea, but I couldn?t see a way out at the
time. In 2001, I got a good job, which has transformed into
a great job. I have taken on increasing responsibility and have more than
doubled my income over the past seven years. I have a bright and exciting
future with a company that?s solid and secure. I had the insight a couple of years ago that I had been
relating to personal finance like a frightened child. Since facing my financial
troubles head-on, I have worked steadily to eliminate the high-interest credit
card payments, have steadily improved my credit rating and am now in sight of
the goal. Although I have a large school loan debt from having
returned to school to earn my degree in my late 40s, the percentage rate and
payments are manageable with the income I now have, and I intend to focus next
on eliminating that debt entirely.I very much appreciate Prosper.com?s people-to-people
approach to lending and I can promise anyone who does sign on as a lender for
me that I will honor this commitment and will manage myself to pay the loan by --
or before -- its due date. I hope that I soon can be on the other side of the
equation, as a lender rather than a borrower. My financial situation: I am a good candidate for this loan
because although I have had financial troubles in the past, I have
worked hard over the past few years to strengthen my financial
standing, to educate myself about money matters and to develop a new
relationship toward my personal finances. I have an excellent job where
I've worked for more than seven years, earning increased responsibility
and more than doubling my income since I first started.
To protect my privacy, I prefer not to list my income and personal information in this public forum. I do give my word that I am able to comfortably repay this loan amount in a timely manner. |
