I work in adveritising sales. I am on track to make about 52,000 this year. I want to eliminate my 18 % credit card. I need about 3000 to pay that one off. I am a good prosper borrower because I have not missed a single payment or ever been late on a payment. Here are my monthly expenditures: 397 car payment 130 car insurance monthly 650 cable, electric, mortgage (I have a roommate who lives in my townhouse and pays 550 rent each month) 55 cell phone 206 prosper loan Current Checking account = 3000 Current Credit cards - bank of america - 3700 - 18.36 % interest rewardzone mastercard - 1100 - 0 % interest until December - then 14.99 chase credit card - 4400 - 7.99 % interest total non food expenses = 1026 Total overall debt (including prosper loan) = 12,700 2400 Net take home each month - (I am contributing 6% to my 401k, have prepaid legal, dental, health, so no worries about sickness). No children or pets No foreseen life changes in the next three years 1. This is people helping people. We are saving each other from financial institutions which charge exorbitant rates and keep us in debt. I would much rather pay interest to an individual than a conglomerant. 2. This is a way to consolidate all my debt into a managable monthly payment. I am excited at the opportunity to get out debt, and then hopefully, turn around and start investing in prosper.com people.
