In 2005, I graduated from the
University of North Carolina ? Chapel Hill with a BA in Dramatic Art and
English. I was an actor, director and a
producer of work that I felt extremely proud of creating. I moved to Chicago with grand hopes of rising
to the top as an improvisational comedian.
What I found was thousands of people selling themselves and their
talents short as they mostly performed shows in bars and for their friends
alone. And I got sucked in. I started living above my means, trying to
match the typical 9-5 job lifestyle of the community and I moved closer to the
improv hub before finding a roommate thus netting me two apartments? rent on a
small salary. This had me opening credit
lines and maxing out cards in a rampant show of ignorance. After two years of this self destructive
behavior, I finally figured out what it was I was supposed to do in the city of
Chicago. I came up with a plan to create a
massive Internet Television series about my time working as a barista at that
green and black coffee shop we all love to hate. With nine major roles, over fifty minor ones,
hundreds of extras, a large crew and the budget of a small independent film,
this project will force some of those people selling themselves short, to rise
to the top to create something that this city can be proud of. This loan will be used as startup money to help
us reach a phase where we can approach investors. We will be creating legal documentation and
paying writers who have already written drafts of all thirteen planned
full-length episodes.Myself and my three other producers
are determined to make this project happen.
We are all contributing to paying off the credit of the business. I have listed their monthly income (minus
their own monthly expenses) to show what they can contribute to the
payments. I refuse to sell myself short any
longer. This project has gotten this far
due to the tough work and sleepless nights of all four producers and now it
will go farther with the help of the Prosper community. Thank you for your time. Monthly net income: $1,500 for
myself alone, $5,000 for all four producers together. Monthly expenses: $850 for myself, $3200 for all four producers together. My expenses: Housing: $475 Insurance: $35 Utilities: $20 Phone, cable, Internet: $20 Food, entertainment: $150 Credit cards and other loans: $150 |
