Purpose of loan: My wife and I will use this loan to pay down our outstanding credit card debt. We've worked hard over the last 2 years to stop using our credit cards all together, and we're currently paying about $1200 month in credit card bills (more than our rent!). We've cut out all the expenses we can (one bedroom apartment for us and our 2 1/2 year old daughter - we sleep in the living room!, no car, limited travel) in order to make as big an impact on our consumer debt as possible. Unfortunately, it's hard to keep track of the rates the credit card companies are using - they keep jumping up. I've rotated to zero interest balance transfer cards several times, but that requires a fee these days. We're paying more and more each month toward interest (two of our cards are at 25% or higher now...) We want to get out of debt! My financial situation: We're invested, body and soul, in getting out of debt. We want a simple, easy payment that will come out of our checking account each month with a fair, flat interest rate, so we can work toward our financial goal of buying our first house. We're 30 and 31 years old, with a 2 1/2 year old daughter. Responsible, dedicated, and anxious to pay off our debts in a simple and straight-forward manner. |
