So, I just bought a house and I'm wrapping up my Master's degree, I've used the last few years to get my credit into pretty decent shape and eliminate all of my debt except for one measly credit card and some student loans . . . Things are good! Well, this house I bought, though, it needs a little work. Not too much, it's in good enough condition that I was able to get a decent mortgage . . . mostly minor things like, the house has no cabinets. After making my down payment and everything, I don't really have the spare cash left laying around to make these improvements without totally depleting my savings. That would be why I'm posting this request here! Hopefully someone can help me out? Here's my monthly budget: Monthly income after taxes and insurance -- $2000 Mortgage with property taxes and insurance escrowed in -- $660 Electric + water + internet -- $150 Car insurance + other car expenses including gasoline -- $400 Groceries + other miscellaneous expenses -- $300 Cell phone -- $65 American Express -- $50 My student loans are currently in deferment. So I have about $375 worth of "disposable" income left. I'll almost definitely have this loan paid off early, so help? |
