I am an active duty Sailor, husband of one (22 years) and father of three daughters.
CURRENT STATUS: We are seeking a loan of $6,000 to help us get back above water after weathering three successive hurricanes, a flood and a medical emergency with our daughter where my wife had to temporarily quit working.We had to max out two credit cards and depleted our savings account. Our home flooded and the insurer refused to pay our losses because it was not considered a ? wind? event. My wife had to leave her job temporarily to stay with our daughter. A couple of slow pays and the referral of my cell phone account to a collector didn't help.
Through all of this, we accepted only a $419 reimbursement from FEMA for the cost of a generator. We currently owe: STAR CARD $3,100, DELL $1,500 and a civilian hospital bill of $469.
HISTORY: Prior to these difficulties, we were on good financial ground. I have financed several auto loans and consumer loans over the past 15 years and have never missed a payment! Until 18 months ago, my credit score was a strong B!
NEAR TERM PLAN: My wife has returned to work and I currently have a second income doing voiceover work. However, the outrageous interest rates and inability to secure a loan on more favorable terms due to slow credit, has had an impact.
I believe we would be a good risk. We are a career military family. I have 7 years till retirement. I am up for promotion, we have a positive cash flow and our actual living expenses are low with a DTI ratio of about 19%.We would like to secure a loan to consolidate several outstanding accounts with high interest rates.
