Hello, I am looking to borrow money to not only clean up my credit but to start an internet comic book store. Eventually, I will move into a physical retail store. The comic book industry is on fire right now and the secondary market for books is just as hot. For example, Marvel Comics came out with a comic book that showcased a story on superheroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America and The X-Men being turned into zombies. Issue #1 came out no less than 8 months ago with a cover price of $2.99 and is now going for $35+ in the secondary market. I have been interested in comics ever since I was a child. I worked for a retail store for about a year before leaving for school. I know the industry like the back of my hand and know that I can turn a huge profit. I currently have over 16,000 comics on hand ready to supply the store with in regards to inventory. The money that I am requesting is so that I can do the following things: 1. Hire someone to create a website. 2. Purchase licenses, register the business, etc... the paperwork. 3. Hire staff. 4. Purchase first months order. 5. Buy shipping and storage supplies. Comic book retailers are sold books from the distributor on an average of 40% off retail... sometimes more. So, I can buy a book with a cover price of $3.00 for an average of $1.80 and make the difference in profit. In my own honest opinion, this is a fail-proof oppurtunity. Comic books are extremely successful now thanks not only to just being a pop culture classic, but the movie industry alone helps boosts sales of comic books. Within the next 5 years, there are going to be 30+ big screen movies based on comic books. I have always dreamed of owning my own store and now is the time to make it happen. In regards to my personal credit, as you can see it is low, this is thanks to being evicted from an apartment in 1999 and sharing a few deliquent accounts with someone in past relationships. I would use some of the profit from the store to help clean up this debt. Please consider loaning me the money.
