I have been a lender on Prosper for a little over two years now and have had two loans through Prosper which have since been paid back in full. I once again find myself in a position where a loan would benefit me. I have had a part-time business for the past four years and my 2008 monthly sales are showing increases of nearly 100% over 2007 monthly sales. If I can do the same in 2009 and 2010, I expect to quit my day job and become self-employed full-time. Up until now, I have been able to grow the business by reinvesting profit back into inventory. In order to meet my growth expectations, I will need to leverage additional capital.
This is strictly an unsecured personal loan based on my credit. I will use the proceeds as working capital to purchase inventory, pay for marketing materials and other business expenses. I expect to pay off the loan in one year. I have been a homeowner for 15 years and have never had a late payment. I live well within my means. I have no car payment, I pay my credit cards in full each month (aside from taking advantage of free 12 month financing on a home improvement project to be paid in full prior to the end of the 12 months) and my wife and I have a DTI on our home mortgage of less than 10%. |
