| Starting a family so wanting to "refi" my existing loan to lower my current payments so we have more in savings for the first year of my daughters arrival. Jan 2007 we borrowed $12830.00 which was used to pay off high interest credit cards which helped and we have kept all but one credit card balance at 0! So this loan has truly served its purpose. We have 19 more months before it is paid off. We have $425.00 deducted each month and have NEVER been late or overdrawn. We would really like to extend the current balance $7680.00 to another 3 years to bring our monthly payments down from $425.00 to $247.00 which will help us save another $178.00 a month. We are by no means in any type of negative finacial situation but would like to be proactive prior to my daughters November 2008 birth. My husband is a full time firefighter for Dekalb county and full time firefighter for Forsyth county. Which results in him working every 48 hours straight and only 24 hours off. We would like to lower all of our monthly bills so that he and I can spend more time with our daughter especially during her first year. We do not want to put her in daycare so if we are able to lower our monthly bills I can continue to work full-time 40hours in a 4 day work week as an office coordinator for a cosmetic dental office and he can work full time as a firefighter for Dekalb county and only part time for Forsyth county. Thus allowing my husband to be home while I am at work to bond with our daughter. Our goal is to keep a financially stress free enviornment for our daughter and be home as much as possible and lower our current monthly loan payment so that we can acheive this goal for our finances and daughter.
