Purpose of loan:
This loan will be used to take the steps necessary to achieve my dream job- to be a yoga teacher and a nutritionist! I have always wanted to take this route in my life as it is my passion, but got caught up for the past few years in the rat race of the finance industry. My ultimate long term goal is to have a well rounded holistic background to open a private practice of nutritional counseling, private yoga lessons, bodywork and teach yoga at local studios. This has been my passion for several years and I have found a sense of peace and freedom from exploring these avenues of wellness. My dream is to able to assist others in finding a mind/ body connection that will help them in all aspects of their lives- as it has helped me.

I live in San Francisco where there are several programs available to be able to pursue this dream. I have narrowed it down to two programs that allow me the flexibility to still work at my current employer while pursuing my certifications. I have informed my boss of my plans and he is fully supportive and has assured me the flexibility with time if necessary in order to complete the programs. The Yoga Teacher Training is with a woman whom I greatly admire and begins in September. I have been accepted to the program and it lasts a full month of ?in-class? study (time off already approved), followed by a year of apprentice work at a local studio about 5 hours per week. I will be fully certified to teach within 1 year, with the option of studying at a more advanced level afterwards. I also have applied for a Nutritional Educator program in which I will get certified as a nutritionist studying at my own pace, which will take approximately 18 months at 5-10 hours of study per week. During this time of both programs, I will continue working in my current job to have a steady income.

The cost of the programs adds up to $12,000 total, plus the cost of study materials, etc. I do need to pay the full costs upfront, which I why I need to apply for this loan.

My financial situation:
I am a good candidate for this loan because I have been a hard worker and have consistently performed well enough in my jobs to achieve promotions, raises and bonuses. I am in a secure financial condition currently and at my current salary will have no problems with making the monthly payments. I just do not have the upfront cash at this time to start the programs.

My long term strategy is to continue to work in my current position as a Senior Underwriter at my company for the next 2-3 years until all of my certifications are completed and I am in a position to start my own practice. I have a savings plan in place to set aside the start-up costs of my own business. My current salary is sufficient to pay the monthly payments for this loan as well as handle all of my current expenses and savings plan. I have never missed a payment on any credit card, loan, rent, bill etc and have always been responsible with my budgeting.

Thank you for considering me for a loan!!
