Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to replace/upgrade the heating and cooling system in my home. My wife and I bought our first home in September, 2006 [with a fixed-rate mortgage]. We have a little townhouse that's just perfect for us. The home was built in 1984, and still has the original heat pump and compressor. We've already replaced the water heater and the back windows and siding. We paid for those upfront with cash, but for this larger project, we don't want to completely deplete our savings. My wife's uncle does HVAC work, so he'll give us a good deal. I'm also hoping this upgrade will help with the energy efficiency of the home (the new windows did!). My financial situation: I am a good candidate for this loan because I always pay things off. My credit card gets paid off completely every month. I'm good with keeping track of money and bills, and I never have any problems (Microsoft Money is great!). I'll probably take my time paying off this loan to help you lenders make some money. |
