Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to help my son relocate for his PhD. He's moving from the South up to Big Ten country, and I'm well aware he's a traitor in terms of a southern sports fan! I'm very proud of him, and we just need to rent a UHaul, pay for first month's rent, turn on utilities, etc. My financial situation: I am a good candidate for this loan because I have an excellent history, and have always repaid my debts on time or early. In addition, my son has a $10K fellowship check (in addition to his assitanceship) awaiting him when he arrives on campus in September. I could more than cover this on my own through state retirement as well. I have always followed through on any debt owed, and this is guaranteed interest for potential lenders.
