I am trying to enhance my current hobby as a pet groomer. I would like to purchase a mobile grooming unit so I can take my show on the road. I am currently a proposal writer and while that pays the bills, it does not feed my sense of creativity. I am also a nurturer, so working with the dogs really give me an opportunity to do that. I absolutely love animals. I have two dogs of my own and a green winged macaw. My two dogs, both pitbulls, are the best things in my life. My parrot is also a sweetheart. It is my dream to one day be able to have my business running full force and be my own boss. I plan to continue working my full time job as a writer as long as it takes to get a solid base for the grooming business. I will work evenings and weekends to build a clientele. I really do love grooming and have been told I am pretty good at it! :-) I guess if you do what you love, it's hard not to be good at it?? I am also currently working toward getting my formal certification as a pet groomer. This is a long process and requires alot of studying and practice. While there are no industry requirement for certification or licensing, I want to do it not only to better myself but to help my clients feel at ease knowing their pets will be in well cared for and capable hands! |
