Our DTI is not accurate. We have about $45k on our current mortgage, since it is a manufactured home it's not listed as a mortgage.

My husband has been with the same construction co. as a crew foreman for > 20 yrs, & I have been the network admin for an independent phone co for almost 7 yrs. Combined gross is approx $90k/yr not including OT or bonuses.

We, like many others, have had our money problems through the years. Our 1st big issue was when my husband almost died with bacterial endocardis and spent 3 mo off work. (2 of which were in the hospital) After BC & BS paid all they were going to we had co-pays & deductibles that totaled over $170k. Although we could have filed bankruptcy we're not cut like that - it took us over 7 yrs working side jobs but we pd off each & every cent.

Next my younger sister (she was 31) was diagnosed and quickly passed from cancer, leaving a destitute spouse and 3 small children ? it was our moral obligation to help with her final expenses and taking care of the kids ? once again our ?ends?, that had almost met, were moved.

While taking a rare day off work I was flooded with calls from creditors. I was stunned when told by each of them I was overdue on them all - told them there MUST be some error. They closed the cards at my request & began an investigation (as did we). During our research we found our then minor daughter suffers from bi-polar disorder, and that she was responsible. She had found our credit cards (they all had 0 bals) hidden in the back of a desk drawer and ran them up to & in some cases over the limits.

The banks offered to clear most if not all of the balances if we helped in prosecute our daughter for fraud. After discussion my husband & I decided we did not wish to permanently ruin her life & declined, instead telling the banks that we would pay them off. She is now in therapy & on meds to help in controlling her disorder, is now 22, gainfully employed & we stand by our decision. But we continue to pay off each of those cards in full (most are already pd off.)

We have several active credit card accounts (some with the previously affected banks), all showing us paying more than the min each mo & always on time, the issues are all the old accts.

Our current problem, we need to move from the manufactured housing community where we live (the home is ours, the property isn?t). It is just not the right environment for our kids.

My husband has almost $104k in his pension fund, & another $35k in a retirement annuity, but they are both union controlled & we cannot borrow from them or against them. I have about $5k in a simple IRA that was just opened 06/05 but it cannot be touched for the 1st 24 months. We are responsible people who have always tried to help others, now we request help ourselves.

Making a $185/mo payment is not a problem ? our current budget for the amounts this loan will clear is already $500/mo. so it will never take the full term to be paid off.

We are hoping someone out there understands what it is like to always do the right thing, & yet have it hurt you.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. We need a GOOD break for a change?

*peace* to you and all those you hold dear...
