I have a beautiful wife and we have three great kids. My son is 19 and a sophomore in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M. My oldest daughter is a 17 year old senior and my youngest daughter is a 15 year old sophomore at Grace Community School. All three have held jobs since they were 14 and have been very active in missions (local, national and international) with our church. They are leaders at school and within their youth groups. We are extremely proud of them. I?m a deacon and Terri and I have both taught discipleship classes at our church. Terri has been the Marketing and Box Office Manager at a performing arts center on a college campus for over 6 years and has been named the Employee of the Year. For about 9 months out of the year, she works 60-70 hours a week and 40+ the other three months. I have been the manager of a small decorative concrete company for a little over eight years. I?ve gone as far as I can with this company and at 45 years old, my back and knees are just about shot. I have no benefits and work 60-90 hours a week. Terri & I have decided that we are tired of spending so little time with our children and each other, not to mention the lack of financial security. We want to become a Real Estate Investors in the East Texas area. I?ve interviewed over 60 people, some were couples or were partners working together, and they all have three important things in common. 1. They all started with minimal or no money. 2. They all make at least $200K per year now. ( most achieved this in less than 2 years) 3. Each of them attributes a large portion of their success to training classes that they have attended. I honestly believe that, with the proper training, we will be extremely successful as Real Estate Investors. Our purpose for obtaining this loan is to get the training that we need and then utilize that training to invest in our first properties. My goal is to have replaced my wife?s income within 12 months and mine in 2 years. I plan to spend approximately $4,000.00 on Training and $10,000.00 on Investment and $1,000.00 on Misc. (business cards, telephone, etc.) Please don?t take this the wrong way, but we will do this whether we get this loan or not. We?ll find a way, but I believe that God directed my eyes to the article about Prosper in the August issue of Inc. magazine. It is very rare that I have time to even pick it up, much less read an article. I doubt if I have read 3 articles in the 3+ years that I have been a subscriber. But I did read this one.
