Purpose of loan: I was stupid in college (who wasn't) and ran up quite a bit of credit card debt. I first attempted to pay these off through a Credit Counseling agency, which I have since found out was a mistake. It turns out that mortgage lenders code this the same as a bankruptcy. So even though I have good credit and a perfect payment history for the last 3 1/2 years - I appear to be a poor mortgage candidate. I would like to use this loan to pay off these cards so that I can get this "blemish" off of my credit report and purchase my first home within the next few years. My financial situation: I have had the same steady full time job for almost four years and have received pretty good yearly raises. I am very financially responsible now and pay all of my bills on time. I have had no delinquencies in the last 3 1/2 years since college.
